| CrystalBlue03-09-07, 01:05 PM | The way I understand it... If you can auto UMD the scroll, you don't have to worry about failing the attempt. However, if you CAN'T auto UMD, then you have to have a judge watch your rolls. Any failed rolls means nothing gets accomplished that day and you have to buy an extra scroll for the next day. So, if you have something that takes 6 days to make and you fail on day 4, you then have to buy another scroll and it will instead take 7 days to make. That doesn't count the base raw materials for the item. You just pay the extra TU's (if any) and extra scrolls. |

I also don't think you can continue to craft if you completely fail a day. I would think the process just ends at that point. The one time I did it, I just had 5 extra scrolls, since my UMD wasn't too high. Daren The way I understand it... If you can auto UMD the scroll, you don't have to worry about failing the attempt. I'll have CL5 from ranger, but have some items I would be using wiz1 for pre-reqs, that will have some mishap chance associated with them. David |

Daren I might be borrowing rules from an Eberron book but I'm pretty certain that there are rules allowing you to leave a project unfinished and return to it so long as you only have one project active at a time. It isn't clear whether you lose a day completely by failing the check on a single scroll but it is clear that you can try again with that scroll the next day if you didn't have a mishap. I wouldn't charge extra days but I doubt it would be that significant a concern should it arise. |
