When you "loose" a dancing weapon.. does it attack using all your Feats & Abilities.. just as if you were wielding it?

Does it flank?

I assume that it stays within 5' of the person who "loosed" it.. but what if its a reach weapon.. can it then stay 10' away?

The only limit I spoted was that it "followed" the person who "loosed" it.. and that it could NOT make Attacks of Oportunity...

Specificly.. I was planning to get a dancing Mancatcher for my Monk... so the weapon could grapple & trip the person who I attacked...

When the weapon is "Grappled" does this make the person who "loosed" it "Grappled"?

A dancing weapon stays within your space (to determine reach).
Since the person loosing it is not considered 'armed' with it, I don't think it threatens, and therefor doesn't flank (unsure on this, though, but it seems implied).
It attacks with your attack bonus, but since it is not specifically mentioned, does not use your feats or abilities.

If that is the case.. Get the BIgest #$#$# Mancatcher that you can get access to.. (even if you can't wield it yourself...) Add "Dancing" to it.. and let it go every 4 rounds pick it up and start again...

It would use your BA for grapple.. plus the weapons size modifier... Since you dont "wield" it.. dont worry about non-proficiency.

This is a FANTASTIC tool for all those Big Dump Fighters with reach... Give it to them.. let them animate it.. that way it will hold down the target creature while they Power Attack for full.

If you are a monk.. its also a fantastic weapon.. becouse it deals your unarmed strike damage while in a grapple :) The weapon itself has horrible Subdual damage.. but it gives you a free grapple attack.. which deals your unarmed strike damage.
