If your caster level is less than what is needed to cast the spell by yourself, then you need to make the caster level check of "caster level of the scroll + 1". The DC is 4 for the 2nd level spell scroll, so if you are 1st level as in your 1st post, then you roll d20+1 at a DC of 4. If you miss that, then you need to make WIS check of DC 5 or suffer a mishap (a natural 1 auto fails on this one despite modifiers).
