there have been a number of discussions aroound the place about dieties with a favoured weapon that has both an exotic and martial proficiency .. the issue concerns the bonus weapon focus of the war domain

examples include kelanon (all martial swords) and mayaheine (martial bastard sword)

depending on the discussion two opposite conclusions get reached:

1. a sword is a sword and swinging it one handed doesnt change its basic nature as a bastard sword or dwarven war axe is the same weapon regardless

2. if the deity sheet specifically says martial it means he/she wants it used that way and swinging it with one hand voids the weapon focus

is there any actual ruling on this issue somewhere ??

Yes, see page 61 of the LGCS 5.0. You gain martial weapon proficiency only, if the weapon has both martial and exotic aspects. It's also in the 4.2 LGCS.
