The devoted tracker feat is a little unclear on whether your animal companion becomes also your paladin mount or visa versa or you get to choose.

Under LG rules would devoted tracker allow a ranger/paladin to use one of the rangers animal companion choices as its paladin special mount ?

It gives your paladin mount the bonuses from animal companion...

Remember, this means you summon it for X hrs per day.

That was rather simple.. how about adding Arcane Heirophant to the build.. not it gains the familiar bonuses, so its a smart/tough paladin mount which you can summon for x hrs per day. (prob not much since you mutted yourself so much away from effective paladin levels).

Lets get to the really difficult questions... (I dont know myself).. Can you take a class that grants a mount (similar to Paladin Mount), and use it in these combinations?

I do not think so .. the feat specifically mentions the paladin and ranger classes.

The next question that arises however ...

If the feat does restrict you to paladin mount choices (you cant take a wolf for example) and just adds improved companion bonuses it does nothing with 4 levels of ranger you need 6 ranger for anything to happen.

This makes beastmaster tempting ... now clearly a level of beastmaster will stop your paladin progression permanently but given it adds to the ranger animal level would this carry across to the combined paladin mount ???

Actually, the feat does not mention paladin and ranger in that area, but rather states that if you have the special mount and animal companion class features, you can designate your special mount as your animal companion. In theory, you could go Pal 5/Beastmaster 1 (taking Track at 1st), and take this feat. Hmmmmm....
