Towards the end of the description, the spell states " Spell effects not operating on objects or creatures cannot pass through the screen. A disintegrate or successful dispel magic removes dispelling screen, while an antimagic field suppresses it. " Does this really make you immune to all spell effects originating on the other side of the screen except Dispel Magic, Disintegrate and Anti-Magic Field? Does anyone has experience with using it? Is it any good? |

The one obvious drawback is that anyone capable of casting the spell is likely to want to cast through it too but you can always use buff spells on your own team and expect to lure the enemy to you... some situations where it's unhelpful but many where it's good. |

NPC caster has a bunch of thugs and/or archers to attack the PCs with, and uses the screen to either strip PCs of buffs as they enter the room, or to keep the thugs/archers from getting blasted to kingdom come by PC spell-chuckers. PCs don't often get a chance to set up these kinds of situations. -karma |

Is it any good? It makes a decent ready. It used to be opaque, not sure any more. It can be nice, but is very situational and dependent on placement as well as party composition. Is this way it works much better for the bad guys as they tend to have more control over both issues. I think it makes an excellent scroll spell for when you find yourself having to deal with specific issues. -James |
