| aterrill02-07-06, 05:40 PM | This may be as much a reminder as something for the lgcs, but there are a lot of spells on the limited list that can be case by clerics\druids etc. However in the past 2 years I haven't seen a single AR granting access to limited divine spells. I can only think of one mod (Hunt for the rogue, expired) since I started playing in year 2, that did. Since the metaorgs do not address spell access anymore, is there some other mechanic that can be added to LG for it, or is it just something that always gets forgotten on AR creation? My main character is a high-level warpriest of Joramy and the flavor spells for my religion (fire, magma etc) are extremely limited as it is (there are 20ish new ice spells for clerics in the compendium but only 2 of the new fire-related spells are clerical). Having them further limited by the campaign leaves me as a fire priest that can only cast like 4 fire spells, and they are largely domain, so I can only use them once per day. Andy Terrill |

I think it's the second - authors get so happy on giving out items and occasionally feat/prestige access, that they forget about spells. I too have only seen one AR with that sort of access, and it's from year 3. You find the limited arcane spells a bit more readily, because they tend to crop up in a spellbook. I would support adding a new mechanic for it as well. Either that or we could always post a reminder email to the Circle once a month to not forget the poor Divine casters when doing the next Core mods. Mike |

My wizard had access to a handul (2 or 3) limited spells before the conversion to 3.5. After conversion, I didn't see any access to limited spells until the module which lead to retirement. Ed |

| Gyro_LC02-09-06, 05:18 PM | I agree completely with having more spells. The second best reward I've received from an AR (the first being a free raise dead by combining three favors), was an interactive that had two or three limited spells per level, spell levels 1-6 for both arcane and divine. Things like legion's align weapon are very handy. Unfortunately, a fireball-happy mage blew up part of the library where all the 1-3 level spells were, so we didn't actually get access to those. Too bad, legion's shield of faith would have been fantastic. |
| gninja02-14-06, 05:43 PM | Yup. I agree. The only limited Divine spells I've seen access to are a handfull from Sandstorm and Frostburn. And that's because I've played a lot of Bright sands modules. And play in a region where cold weather gear is a requirement (The Pale). |
| Iswald02-14-06, 10:01 PM | I would say it depends on the author, what books they have and what fits the mod. Material from the complete books, MH, FB and Stormwrack has shown up in my region. There has been access to limited spells for clerics, wizards, paladins and rangers, maybe bards too. I wouldn't say that there has been a lot of access, but giving plentiful access would defeat the point of making spells limited in the first place. |
