Gwumph 01-24-07, 04:37 AM	Hey guys 1 of my players is a member of an arcane meta-org for Perrenland. The org gives a +1 bonus to spellcraft checks. Does this bonus always apply or does it only apply in Perrenland?
Mithreinmaethor 01-24-07, 04:49 AM	It should tell you in the description of the bonus. If it doesnt say it only applies within your area or some of the surrounding areas its a general bonus. But it could say if you use library X or temple X etc etc. Those would be hard to access when you are in the City of Greyhawk as an example
trollbill 01-24-07, 09:40 AM	Here's a question along a similar lines and one that might be good to put in Dispel Confusion or the LGCS. If I have a favor that applies to "All adventures set in the ______ Metaregion," does this favor only apply to Metaregional adventures, or does it also apply to all Regional adventures that are part of that Metaregion? What about Core adventures set in that Metaregion?

Trollbill: The way that is phrased would apply to any type of adventure set in that metaregion, including the regions that compose it. If it had instead said "any ____ metaregional", it would only apply to metaregional type adventures.

One of my characters has remained in perrenland for role play reasons (eligible this year for junior officer, Ritter status, member of the grove, numerous medals of valor etc etc etc) and actually loses almost a third of her annual TU's to perrenland meta-orgs but never gets to play there. If some of those bonuses apply universally it will make the TU loss less onerus. (BTW .. slightly off topic .. but another of her annoyances was receiving a stack of exceptionally good "one calendar year Perrenland region only" favors just a game or two before the Ratik changeover. )
Mithreinmaethor 01-24-07, 06:42 PM	If the original poster was speaking of the "Den Zauber" meta-org then the bonuses listed as skill bonuses are good anywhere. (i.e they dont have a restriction of where they can be used listed) The gaining access to the spells and the special items requires you to have played a Perrenland regional adventure however. As to clannagh what meta-orgs are you a part of? Its all in the wording. I have some that give me the bonuses anywhere and some that give me bonuses in certain areas.
Gwumph 01-24-07, 09:56 PM	Mith Yes I am refering to Den Zuaber. Ilet the player have the bonus, but it does seem unclear to me. Many other things mention that they only work in Perrenland, yet the skill bonus doesn't. Was wondering if it was lack of space or it does apply. But Britt is right, this needs to be cleared up. There are a number of regional meta-orgs that give skill bonuses with no specifics. Just because you are in the Perrenland military doesn mean you you know how to handle yourself in the Tusmit military. My opinion is if the meta-org allows non-regional players to join then it applies everywhere. If it require regional mods-regional favors and certain time in region before advancing then it appplies only in the region.
Stormydoom 01-24-07, 10:51 PM	The metaorg skill bonuses from perrenland metaorgs are circumstance bonuses which are useable anywhere. Well thats how i've been plaing them anyway. There is also a cap of +4 to all circumstance bonuses provided by perrenland metaorgs. So if metaorg A gave +2 on spot and metaorg B gave +3 on spot your total bonus would be capped at +4. I believe the circumstance bonus provided by all perrenland metaorgs is based upon training recieved from the metaorg (and this training is represented by the metaorg tu cost, which in my own opinion is sometimes high). But I guess you also get regional flavour (and a small bit of access to nonagical items), YUM regional flavour.......
Mithreinmaethor 01-25-07, 07:12 AM	Meta-orgs in other areas are specific in how they word where these bonuses work. So if your AR doesnt restrict it in the text then as you have been playing it is correct.
