Nutation 04-17-07, 01:34 PM	A druid qualifies for some of them at 5th, but of course, doesn't get a feat unless he's a fighter 1/druid 5 or some such. Other wild feats have additional requirements such as "ability to wild shape into a large creature", thus need more druid levels.

The viewpoint is because druids have wild shape as a class ability, you can start gaining the feats even before you actually gain the power to wild shape. Anyone else run it that way?

Anyone else run it that way? Nope. If Wild feats were the way you guys describe them, they'd have a different prereq: Druid level 1st.
trollbill 04-17-07, 02:33 PM	Not to mention Paladins could take Divine feats at first level. The Wild feats all say you have to have the ability, not have the ability as a class feature.

By that logic then a pre-req of 3rd level arcane spells can be satisfied by a 1st level wizard, since eventually they could get those. So no, I do not run it that way, and nor should anyone else. The wiggle room is that there may be some wild feats that don't explicitly require wildshape as a pre-req. I really doubt it, but I haven't read every single book, so I can't rule it out either. I likewise don't know the wording on the shifting druid option/alternate class feature, and whether that would make a difference, but I have the distinict impression that it doesn't apply here since the druid in question is higher level than I'd expect for someone who just started a druid with access to the alternate class features.

Thus, they are open to druids of 5th level or higher, as well as any character who has gained the wild shape ability from a prestige class or other source." If the other question was referring to the 'Shapeshift' alternate class feature in PHB2, I don't believe you would be able to use Wild feats with it, since the feature says you do not gain the wild shape class feature, nor any variations on that feature.

It just wouldn't work; the feats are based on the usage of a limited per-day ability, not an at-will ability like shapechange.
