| Howie2309-03-07, 03:17 AM | Howie Why not? "All composite bows are made with a particular strength rating." PHB, p. 119. The strength bonus of a composite bow is due to its construction at the time of manufacture. It isn't a magical enhancement that can be upgraded. A stronger bow is thicker, bigger, has more layers of sinew, horn, or whatever. If you're looking for a "I can do what I want unless the rules specifically say I can't" type response, I'm pretty sure this was asked and answered during the LGCS discussion in February, check in the big thread. Edit: This was asked in the big Q/A thread and no answer was provided, citing core rules issue. On another occasion, it was asked on the big Q/A thread, and the answer was that it couldn't be done. The two answers were posted within 5 days of each other, with No-You-Can't post coming after. http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?p=11585184&highlight=bow#post11585184 http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?p=11535847&highlight=composite#post11535847 David |
