Do the followers you gain with the leadership feat have PC class levels (ftr, clr, rog, wiz etc) or just NPC class lvls (war, adt, asc, cmn) ?

I would say just NPC class levels.

PC levels are supposed to be reserved for exceptional individuals.

That, and if this is an LG specific question, I don't believe that you can have followers in game. The only time I've ever heard of followers being used was when there was ample time to use them and you were in your home region.

Do you mean Cohorts? Followers are not used in LG.

I believe they are sometimes authorised for use in regional interactives, but this is rare. I would imagine that ini those circumstances the author of the module would stipulate the abilities of the followers.

Pg. 42 of the LGCS says: "Followers use the same rules to create cohorts with the following changes:
-The only equipment they are allowed to purchase is out of the PHB.
-They may not loan or be loaned equipment. They are simple guards and such. Not adventurers."

It does say that they can be involved in specific interactives and special events. Main use I saw them ever used for was when a PC wanted their followers to gather the supplies needed so they could get other things done during an interactive. I know that I'll be using some of my followers for babysitting with one of my PC's.

Oh wow I stand corrected.

4 more levels till I get leadership.

The funniest use for followers (and if I ever DM someone trying this I will slap it down) is to rile them up into a very mad group of followers. I figure at about 10th level, it's easy to have 20-25 followers as a high-charisma character. If you make them mad enough, they turn into a mob.

Unleash the commoner mob! It's only a -1 on attracting new followers if you managed to get your old ones killed.

there is a cert from a Core mod which gives a title and a follower that goes around paying your bills and cleaning up your mess, but they have no game mechanics
