| ThaiGQ08-14-07, 06:09 PM | Hey all, I was just wondering about the spell Freedom of Movement. Recently, in a mod, all of the characters had the Freedom of Movement spell active on them and then we encountered some mummies. The DM ruled that the paralysis from viewing the mummies was not subject to the immunity granted by the Freedom of Movement spell because it was a fear effect. Logically, the ruling makes sense, but in regards to the RAW, does the spell grant immunity to paralysis from the mummies' "fear paralysis" or other similar effects? |
| mlund08-14-07, 06:19 PM | This spell enables you or a creature you touch to move and attack normally for the duration of the spell, even under the influence of magic that usually impedes movement, such as paralysis, solid fog, slow, and web. Bolded emphasis mine "Despair," is a Supernatural Ability and thus still magical paralysis and trumped by Freedom of Movement. - Marty Lund |
