Half-ling Skiprock [Archive] - Wizards Community

01-22-07, 08:13 PM I was wondering if any one here knows. Can the spell Flame Arrow be placed on a Skiprock. Also what other spells (Arcane) can be placed on a thrown weapon. The only ones I can really thing of are the Magic Weapon spells.

01-22-07, 08:22 PM Unfortunately, I'm not even sure the greater magic weapon spell would work. It specifically mentions arrows, bolts, and bullets (I'd generally expect a DM to rule that it does work, but RAW id does not). Flame arrow does say ammunition, so I'd expect skip-rocks to work at almost all tables.

I don't see why a skiprock wouldn't be seen as equivalent to a "stone" - the list does not appear to exclusive; it merely gives some examples of ammunition that can be affected by the spell.

Aside from the initial reaction ("it's not an arrow"), I think that if you simply have the spell text ready, it'll be a very rare judge that would disallow it.

I dont have the text.. but I could see people arguing that the spell only affects the first target.. not the secondary.

Its been two plus years since I last played in LG, I spent a pile of money on Pemlos Skiprock +1. Mostly because I play a Half-Ling, now im thinking I just wasted my gold:weep:. Will probably sell it at end of first part of Red Hand of Doom.

Its been two plus years since I last played in LG, I spent a pile of money on Pemlos Skiprock +1. Mostly because I play a Half-Ling, now im thinking I just wasted my gold:weep:. Will probably sell it at end of first part of Red Hand of Doom.

Yeah, I remember Pemlo's skiprock. The problem is that with 3.0 -> 3.5, they changed the skiprock to ammunition in Races of the Wild. (I think this is correct anyways. I know someone was having problems about it on the yahoo group.) You might want to talk to the triad about about a refund since it will now break with a single use and makes it useless compared to what the great brewer sold you in the past.
