*shakes magic 8-ball*

All signs point to yes, but expect table variation.

Fast healing is "like" natural healing.
The Vigour Spells are *Spells*.

I don't think it works. Others do. You certainly shouldn't count on it but itmay be worth asking at the table.

there is a long thread about it around ehre somewhere (check through google if you really care -youhave the summary already ;))

looking forward to a circle ruling...
I doubt it, as it falls into the 'core rules issue' trap.

Player sits down. "Hi judge. How do you handle healthful rest and vigor?"

Judge: [insert any reply here]

Player: "Ok, thanks." Selects spells and tactics appropriately.

End of issue, and certainly no need for Circle.

It is my understanding that the circle cannot make rulings on issues that are not due to this being a 'living' campaign. Just because it is a common issue does not mean that the circle can or will make a ruling. Take the 'trained for war' issue for example. Its not a matter of 'worth', its a matter of 'allowed to'.

on a side note would a metamagic extend rod do anything to a lesser vigor ???

Yes, it doubles the duration, but the ruling I got said
it cannot exceed the maximum healing of 15 for a LesserV.

Now a Mass LesserV, or Vigor et. al. with an extend rod is
a thing to behold.

There is mention of the affect of extend on the duration of the vigor spells in the faq. Basicly it does increase the duration but only up to the cap listed in the spell.

Player sits down. "Hi judge. How do you handle healthful rest and vigor?"

Judge: "It doesn't work."

Player: Stares mournfully at favored soul's spell list.

End of issue? Nope.

Personally, I don't think they should stack...even though I have a favored should who wishes they did.

So don't rely on it working when choosing Favoured Soul spells.

If there is a rules uncertainty, it's foolish to expect it to work the way you want at every table.

For the record, I don't think Healthful Rest affects the operation of fast healing.

That's the problem. This leads to a duck and cover mentality that does nothing for the game.

Point taken, I was talking about clerics, and I wasn't looking at it for FS.

A favored soul attempting this is coming from one of three positions:

1) She know there is variance.

2) Someone else recommended it, without highlighting the table variance aspect.

3) He came up with it on his own as a creative idea, without recognizing the possible objections.

This issue is outside of the purview of Circle to rule on. Circle has, though, provided the retraining option. Despite the wealth of questions and corner cases this has generated, it has the general effect that issues like this have a duration of a maximum of one level if it is important for the Player. Pass the word on issues like this to help others avoid being blindsided.

This campaign in a metagame environment in which table variance is inherent. Know the issues for your character, and make your choices appropriate to your tolerance level.

Well I'm not sure this is an agreement with James (I hate agreeing with James) but I do wish there were a way for someone to get an LG specific ruling on something that's contentious. The WotC help center is a bust since they only provide answers to individuals (and those answers sometimes vary). The Circle clearly refuses to make such rulings. The Sage/FAQ is nice but it's too few rulings and too infrequent.

Hrm...time to start a new thread.
