I am confused as to how the Able Learner feat works? If I am a Fighter 4 (no other classes), how high can I make my tumble (not a class skill)? Is it 4 pts. at a cost of 4? 7 pts. at a cost of 7?

Please how does the math work for this feat?

Thanks,

A 4th level fighter can have a maximum of 3 ranks of tumble and it would cost 3 skill points. It remains a cross class skill and hence follows the max ranks of half the level + 3 rule. It just cost you only 1 skill point per rank.

Note though that the feat is closed in Living Greyhawk.

With the question answered, I think it should be mentioned that able learner is a closed feat.
