If Reincarnated from human to (Insert race here)... [Archive] - Wizards Community

1)What happens to your bonus feat and bonus skill points if you get reincarnated from human to another race (not human)?

2)Do you retain or lose these benifits?

3)Also what happens when you get reincarnated from another race (not human) to human?

4)Do you gain the benifits of being human and if so how are the skill points dealt with?

03-11-06, 05:49 AM I think the spell description is pretty clear: (emphasis mine)

A reincarnated creature recalls the majority of its former life and form. It retains any class abilities, feats, or skill ranks it formerly possessed. Its class, base attack bonus, base save bonuses, and hit points are unchanged. Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution scores depend partly on the new body. First eliminate the subject’s racial adjustments (since it is no longer of his previous race) and then apply the adjustments found below to its remaining ability scores. The subject’s level (or Hit Dice) is reduced by 1. If the subject was 1st level, its new Constitution score is reduced by 2.

It’s possible for the change in the subject’s ability scores to make it difficult for it to pursue its previous character class.

The reincarnated creature gains all abilities associated with its new form, including forms of movement and speeds, natural armor, natural attacks, extraordinary abilities, and the like.

So, that would make:

1) you keep them for those levels gained prior to the reincarnation (minus the level you lose due to the spell, of course)

2) see above

3) given you're now human, you get to enjoy the +1 skill pt/level but ONLY for those levels gained AFTER the reincarnation. No retcon here! Since your "1st" level is "behind you" already (so to speak), you don't gain the extra feat humans qualify for, sorry.

4) see above (wording your question differently won't yield a different answer)

03-14-06, 09:06 AM Mind you, the FAQ on p.62 of the LGCS (5.0) is talking about "racial" feats.. which isn't the same as the extra-feat all humans get at 1st-lvl.
