This feat is from the Monster Manual p304 and OPEN per the new LGCS.

I was wondering how it would apply to a monk's unarmed strike?

It sounds like it would meet the requirement of "natural weapon"
As the monk description states "...is treated as both a manufactured and a natural weapon for the purpose of spells or effects that enhance or improve either manufactured weapons or natural weapons."

The feat reads "The damage for this natural weapon increases by one step, as if the creature size had increased by one catagory:1d2, 1d3, 1d4, 1d6, 1d8, 2d6, 3d6, 4d6, 6d6, 8d6, 12d6."

I would say the Monk's unarmed damage would increase by one size category. So a 4th level monk who would normally do 1d8 would do 2d8(same as if Large) after this feat.

To take this feat to extremes....

How much damage would monk do with unarmed strikes IF

She if were 20th Level, was wearing a monks belt (bumps her up to next monk tier of unarmed strike damage) had taken this feat AND currently enlarged?

I came up with 7d8 per strike, but that does not seem right.

I tried to extend both tables in the PHB 3-10 and 3-11 to a vaule and I was unable to (I ended up using some SERIOUSLY creative math.

Any thoughts on how this would play out?

Even if you disagree with the premise of how this applies could someone help with the extending of the two PHB tables.

Thanks for any input.
(This post cross posted to monkeys as well-- sorry if you read twice)

The FAQ makes it clear the feat can be applied to the monk's unarmed strike.

Note that 1d8 becomes 2d6. Also note that unless you have the epic book, damage does not increase beyond 20th level and hence the belt would have no impact. Remember, it does not bump you to the next tier. It gives you 5 levels to determine AC bonus and damage. The 20th level monk would probably deal 4d8 damage per hit (1d10 becomes 2d8).

It would be:
1d8
2d6
2d8
3d6
3d8
4d8

Large Monk20 with Belt & ImpNA (unarmed strike) does 6d8.

Monk20 does 2d10. As Madfox stated, the belt won’t improve this (with a possible exception if you’re level 21+ and using Epic rules).
Large Monk20 does 4d8 per the Monk Size / Damage table.
Adding the ImpNA Feat (+1 size) does 6d8 as stated under INA for 1d10 weapons [1d10, 2d8, 3d8, 4d8, 6d8, 8d8, 12d8]. You could also refer to the Increased Damage By Size Table (MM) to see that 2d8 increases to 3d8 (and double it).

What belt?

Monk's Belt? The wearer’s AC and unarmed damage is treated as a monk of five levels higher.

Unless epic rules are used. The monk belt would be useless.

Can't count as a level 25 monk, there is no AC and unarmed bonus for it, it would be the same as a lvl 20 monk.

Cos you can't go over level 20 WITHOUT epic rules.

And the epic rules (well, at least the SRD version) state:

Unarmed Strike: The damage for a monk’s unarmed strike does not increase after 20th level.

And the epic rules (well, at least the SRD version) state:

Ok then...a 15th level monk with a monk's belt goes to 2d10 damage per pop.

Enlarged that 15th level monk has a knuckleball for 4d8.

Now we have improved natural attack for a roundhouse of 6d8 per successful strike...:w00t: !

That's gunna leave a mark, homie.

Can a non-monk take Improved Natural Attack?

You need a Natural Attack to improve upon.

Monks specifically as a class ability can treat their unarmed strikes as Natural Weapons.

The Improved Unarmed Strike feat does not by itself grant this ability.
