Influence point vs Favor [Archive] - Wizards Community

02-27-06, 09:43 AM Is a favor and an influence point the same?
Looking at various AR's I see in Bold print one influence point from person A then in the description it says you may exchange the 'favor' for something.
On another AR it says you have recieved the favor of person A in bold print and goes on to describe it.
What if there is an circumstance on an AR that says cross off the next influence point you gain because you did something bad? Is it the same of 'gaining a favor' to be crossed off?

Favors are, typically, "exchangeable" for specific things, as detailed on the AR in which they're awarded.

Influence points are, typically, more flexible, and, depending on the circumstances under which they're given (and who gives them), can be "spent" on a variety of things.

02-27-06, 04:31 PM I've always looked at favors that don't have a specific use as bargining chips when/if I ask the triad for something. I'm not sure what there intended use is. I would imagine many are there incase they want to use those favors in future mods.
