Sorry for the noobie question :embarrass

These are mentioned throughout the LGCS and in some of the starting adventures, but I have no idea where the mechanics are discussed. Are they awarded in campaign documentation or is there another document I'm looking over?

The mechanics will vary from region to region a little, but in general they all work the same -- X influence points can be traded in for later favors, can help defray the cost of spellcasting, etc. It would be a good idea to look at your region's meta-org document, as that is where influence points come into play the most.

As far as earning influence, you'll get that either by playing adventures (where they may be awarded by certain groups depending on the actions you took in the adventure), or by joining meta-orgs (some meta-orgs automatically give out influence points by virtue of being a member).

For example, in my home region, if I go to the Church of Rao to get a remove disease spell cast on me, and I'm not a member of the church, it'll cost me 300gp. However, the meta-org document detailing spellcasting costs also says that there is an influence cost -- if I have 7 influence points with the Church of Rao, I can use those influence points to pay the spellcasting cost instead (and they are then used up, although some influence points can be permanent!)

The specifics will vary from region to region -- some regions have groups that will not perform any spellcasting on you unless you first have some influence with them.

Thanks Arvagor. I'm completely new to this Living campaign business and some of the details are a little vague to me.

Thanks again!
