Southernskies 04-01-07, 07:08 AM	It is not "Open", so if it is in a book somewhere, you will require certed access. Just use a Falchion for the moment (very similar weapon anyway).

If he buys the book then he is all peachy However, it is "Open" access in LG and it does not require certification on an AR. All he has to do is own Sandstorm, and even then he doesn't have to bring the whole book with him. Just a copy of the page the weapon is found on.

Not owning the book does not mean the item is not open...Open/Closed are criteria that apply to characters, not to players. It's quite open to the character, and he only needs a legally owned copy of Sandstorm (or a facsimile page of a legally owned book) to use it... In fact, the LGCS does not say that you need to own the book unless you're bringing the facsimile. If a physical book is brought to the table, all one needs to do per the LGCS is "bring a copy" of the rulebook. You can borrow it from a friend, your brother, the homeless guy in front of the hotel who's into gaming, anyone...It just needs to be there in person, or a facsimile of a copy you legally own.
