| myshkingfh07-26-07, 01:53 PM | I can't find one on the internets. Specifically, I wonder if the exclusion of diplomacy from the Knight's skill list is in error. Two of the quick start characters have diplomacy as one of their skills, making me think they didn't intend them to take the skill cross-class. Or am I just a jackalope and Diplomacy is a class skill? |
| ShinAkuma207-26-07, 09:27 PM | Diplomacy is not a class skill for the Knight. In fact, in the advancement section of the Knight, there's a sentence that outright states that Diplomacy is not a class skill, but they recommend it anyway, for whatever reason. |
| Banor07-26-07, 10:00 PM | They might add it in an Errata, after all they did for the scout with Disable Device, both situation appear very similar imo. |
| ShinAkuma207-26-07, 10:10 PM | Not at all. They added Disable Device to Scout because it was an oversight; the class was meant to have it, since it has the Trapfinding class feature. The Knight has no such reason to have Diplomacy as a class skill, and, like I said, there's a section that even mentions the lack of Diplomacy. They're aware of it, and it's meant to be that way. |

Scout had trapfinding so that they could find pits and other traps that might be found in the wilderness. They were not intended to be ubertrapfinders. Disable device as added because many players were confused and complained. |

Anything non magical and with a DC of 20 or lower can be found by anyone. |
| ShinAkuma207-31-07, 02:00 PM | Disable device as added because many players were confused and complained. That's an...interesting interpretation you've got there. Why would they need Disable Device to find a pit trap, when Disabling a pit trap gives you an open pit? Pretty much any "wilderness trap" can be defeated without Disable Device. Scouts may not be "uber trap finders", but they're at least as good as Rogues, should they choose to go that route, and there's no reason they shouldn't be. |

Do a search of old posts if you disbelieve. :P Scouts weren't intended to be as good as rogues. The lack of disable device was not an oversight. Adding it was due to player dissatisfaction. |

| control freak08-01-07, 05:02 PM | they dont like errata, thats why they let you do it with "LOOK AT ME IM THE R&D!"  in any event if they did that it would probably create more books and have annoying little things happen every time you reprint something |
| Timlagor08-02-07, 04:04 AM | They said they were going to start producing Errata Documents again... I haven't seen any evidence yet though. |
