If a Barbarian takes the alternate class feature frenzied strength from PHII, do they lose the feature if they become lawful?

I would say yes, but that is more on the basis of reading the alternate feature, and feeling that that is the spirit of the rules... As far as LG is concerned, I doubt you'll ever be able to get a definitive ruling unless the Sage opts to answer the question...

In fact, most of the alternate class features neglect to cover items that are basic for the actual class abilities. Such as defining if the new ability as SU, SP or EX.

For instance, the Monk alternate called Decisive Strike does not say if it is still affected by the armor restrictions of the class feature that it replaces. To be a fair replacement, it should be affected by this, but without the written rules, player's can strongly argue that this new ability does NOT have the restriction.

Same for Frenzied Strength.

But the rules (all of them) about loss of abilities for Lawfulness are in the PHB, which had never concieved of alternate class abilities. This adds the the list of things that go wrong as rules bloat from several years of continued game developement and publishing.

I wouldn't blame that so much as either A) lack of proofing/rules checking or B) lack of a style guide ("make sure you define whether or not the character loses this ability in a given situation").
