LGCS 597: Taking 10 and Living of the Wild. [Archive] - Wizards Community

02-08-07, 07:09 PM The LGCS no longer explicitly states that you can 10 take to live off the wild, but it doesn't say you can't either. Is this because it is supposed to be assumed you can take 10, or is the intent that you can't take 10 to live off the wild?

If you can't find it in the LGCS, check the Core rules. In this case, Survival allows take 10, so you can take 10.

Ok. I was aware of the core rules, I just wasn't clear on the intent of the change to the LGCS. Thanks for the clarification.

And might I say thank you from the bottom of a Druid's heart for getting rid of the 4 ranks of Craft(Bowmaking) requirement for replenishing arrows.

02-09-07, 06:41 PM I suggest lowering the DC to 10 and removing the 5 ranks requirement.

Reasons:
1. 10 is the DC on p.83 of the PHB for getting along in the wild.
2. Survival can be used untrained.

If we don't want everyone living off the wild every module, then we should write modules to significantly penalize those that do.

I don't see why you can't keep the phase "Living Off the Wild". I guess I don't see a reason not to keep it. For consistency, it's easier to keep it.
