LGCS, boilerplate and Herald-level requirement [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-02-07, 07:46 PM I just noticed that the 596 boilerplate - and the version of the 597 boilerplate in the Core template on the LG site - say "You don’t have to be a HERALD-LEVEL GM to run this adventure if you are not the senior GM." This is no longer the case and, in fact, was not the case in 596, although the sentence containing that rule was easier to overlook in the 596 LGCS.

Just thought I'd point it out!

It seems as if the new 'Judge Center' might be able to display people's judge ranking, but I don't think it works right now for people who took the old Herald test, before the Judge Center was created. Or does anyone have an update on whether/when that will work?

Where do RPGA DMs stand on annual renewal?

I know of at least one person that is over 18, has passed the Herald test, has been collecting reward points for GMing for well over a year but cannot actually book games.

I took the Herald test post-new-system, and the only problem I've had so far is that it lost my address info in the new system - so I guess there were probably data import problems somewhere in there.

Maybe he should take the test again in the new system?

03-12-07, 04:16 PM If you log on then click the update personal info link (can't remember the particular wording) then on the right hand side there is a link to a Judge Center. It is a common location for RPGA and DCI exams and other functions. Worth an explore.

03-16-07, 11:27 AM Indeed. That is why I brought the matter up during the discussion period (once the section which made the restriction clear was published).

I was under the impression that the RPGA General Rules were all that pertained to the matter - I clearly hadn't dilligently read the section in the LGCS 596 which restricted LG DMing to Herald-level GMs. It was only when I was about to post a "why are you introducing this?" question that I thought I'd go back and check and, lo and behold, there was the restriction in the old text as well.

I'm not sure I agree with the rule, nor is there any foolproof way to check (I wouldn't know where my Master-level RPGA card is, for instance) but this thread was more about pointing out an inconsistency between boilerplate and LGCS so TPTB could get it fixed than about questioning the rule itself.
