| Arvagor02-21-06, 08:45 PM | In the newly published LGCS, the following spells do not have the Spell Compendium as their source: Bestow Curse, Greater Forestfold Hawkeye Nature's Favor Obedient Avalanche Stalwart Pact Are we supposed to use the cited version (stalwart pact coming from Complete Divine, for example), or was the citation not being changed a mistake? Also, can we please have the "non-pretty" version back? It saves ink immensely when we don't have to print the fancy border and header on all 68 pages... |
| Samwise02-21-06, 09:44 PM | I wouldn't mind seeing that border disappear, although I suspect its kind of mandatory for all official WotC pdfs. I will add that apparently some things were missed in the document, and it will have to be reviewed after WF. Mostly minor things, but also websites updated and vests of resistance added to upgradeable items. So don't print it up yet! (Well, unless you can sneak a copy at work. :P ) |
| Maesto02-21-06, 10:41 PM | Couple of other things: Page 27, Omen of Peril is still listed twice, once as RD, and once as SpC. Note that the second one is listed after "Otiluke's" whatsimicallit. Page 32, Eye of Gruumsh is listed as "Eye of ruumsh". Page 61, 4th last word - "teh" should be "the". Page 10, under "Human, Tuov", one of the feats is listed as "Novble Soul" - remove the "v". As well, agreed - looks pretty, but oh the ink! |
| Arvagor02-21-06, 10:47 PM | Well, while we're at it, then... - Page 30, "Spirit saman" under NPC ONLY CLASSES should be "Spirit Shaman" - More a style thing, but shouldn't all the prestige classes listed on page 32 be propercase (e.g. "Holy Liberator", not "Holy liberator"), just like on page 30-31? And if I didn't know better, I'd almost say somebody typed this up on a typewriter with an offset "u" ;) |
| Maesto02-21-06, 11:28 PM | One other thing I just noticed (updating my spellbook) was that the spell "Accuracy" isn't in the SpC; it's a warmage spell, and as far as I can see, it's only in the CA. I can't find a reference to it having changed names, and there isn't a list of warmage spells in the SpC to go by. Proposal: Change "Accuracy (SpC)" to "Accuracy (CA)" Jolyon |
| Maesto02-21-06, 11:55 PM | Ok, now you guys are going to think I have no life. Oh well. Here's some more stuff: "Animate cire (SpC)" on p 26 should be "Animate fire (SpC)" The spell "Banebow (SpC)" has been renamed and is now "Foebane (SpC)", which is already listed. Remove "Banebow (SpC)". The spell "Chameleon (SpC)" has been renamed and is now "Camouflage (SpC)", which is already listed. Remove "Chameleon (SpC)". "Deific Vengeance (SpC)" and "Delay Death (RD)" are back to front in alphabetical order. Swap them. Also, "Delay Death" is down as (RD); there is a new (significantly different) version available in the SpC. Which one to use? "Dissonant chord (SpC)" should be after "Dispelling screen, greater (SpC)" for alphabetical ordering. "Distracting Assailant (SpC)" is now renamed to be "Distract Assailant (SpC)". I'll submit this lot now, and post again if I find more. I'd hate for IE or windows to crash =) |
| Maesto02-22-06, 12:44 AM | Here's some more: "Force Whip (SpC)" should be "Sonic Whip (SpC)", which is already included. Remove the reference to Force Whip. "Forestfold" should refer to (SpC), not (CD or CAd). "Ghostform (SpC)" should be before "Golem Strike (SpC)" in alphabetical order. "Hawkeye" should be (SpC), not (CD or CAd). "Heart of Stone" could probably do with an explanatory entry (along with limited wish etc). "Hound of Doom", the hexblade spell, is not presented in the SpC. Rename "Hound of Doom (SpC)" to "Hound of Doom (CW)". "Improved Blink" has been incorporated into "Blink, Greater" and should be removed from the list. "Infernal Threnody" should come before "Infestation of Maggots" in alphabetical order. "Iron Silence" should come after "Invisibility, Swift" in alphabetical order. "Leomund's Hidden Lodge" has been renamed to "Hidden Lodge", which is already listed. Remove "Leomund's Hidden Lodge". "Lion's Roar (SpC)" should come before "Listening Coin (SpC)" in alphabetical order. "Mastery of the Sky (RW)" should come after "Master's Touch (SpC)" in alphabetical order. "Mark of the Hunter (SpC)" should come before "Master's Touch (SpC)" in alphabetical order. "Nature's Favour" should be (SpC), not (CD or CAd). "Obedient Avalanche" should be (SpC), not (CD and Fr). "Omen of Peril" is discussed previously in this topic. "Otiluke's Dispelling Screen (SpC)" and the Greater version have both been renamed to "Dispelling Screen" (and greater version), which are already included in the list. Remove "Otiluke's Dispelling Screen (SpC)" and the greater version. "Phantom Threat (SpC)" should come before "Phantom Wolf (SpC)". The "Repair ... Damage (SpC)" bunch of spells should come after "Renewal Pact" in alphabetical order. "Sonic Whip (SpC)" should come before "Spectral Weapon" in alphabetical order. "Speechlink (SpC)" should come before "Spell resistance, mass (SpC)" in alphabetical order. "Stalwart Pact (CD or RD)" has a significantly revised version in SpC, should it be changed to recognise this? "Superior Invisibility (SpC)" is already listed as "Invisibility, superior (SpC)". Remove "Superior invisibility (SpC)". "Thornskin (SpC)" should be before "Tidal Surge (SpC)" in alphabetical order. "Vitriolic Sphere (SpC)" should come after the various "Visage of the Deity" spells in alphabetical order. "Wraithstrike (SpC)" is on the list of Core and Restricted spells. Please fix this one!!! Ok, that's all that I've found. I don't have the races books on hand, so I'm going to assume that they're all ok. I hope that these changes end up in the final copy of this LGCS =)=)=)=)=)=) Jolyon Edit: Fixed spelling error |
| Iswald02-22-06, 10:14 AM | Restricted spell Mantle of the Fiery Spirit should be from Sa, not Fr. |
| Iswald02-23-06, 09:34 AM | Black Sand, which was unlisted in the draft was placed as an NPC only spell in the finished version. But, no replacement was given for the sand domain. For clerics, it's not a major problem, but divine crusaders are screwed. |
| Bob_the_Theurge02-23-06, 10:25 AM | Page 65: Point of Contact for Bandit Kingdoms is Casey Brown, not Casey Browny Page 26: the spell Delay Death still has its source listed as Races of Destiny, even though the latest version of the spell is Spell Compendium. |
| Nutation02-23-06, 01:53 PM | p. 5 - Zeif should follow Yeomanry in the table p. 26 - The Instant FAQ spellbook question is also answered on p. 60. The cleric domain question is also answered on p. 58 and on p. 59. Can these be consolidated? p. 34 - The bulleted paragraphs have incorrect spacing of the last line. Animals and the APL - the Mounted Combat exception could be given here as well as p. 55. p. 48 - The Instant FAQ questions are also answered on p. 62. p. 50 - Table 7-4 title has spurious capitalization p. 55 and elsewhere - the word "errata" is plural p. 62 - In the Reincarnated answer, paragraphs 2 and 3 have incorrect left margins. p. 66 - The Duchy of Urnst website is duchyurnst.org (not .com) |

| kjenks02-24-06, 09:02 AM | p. 43 - "Do to the shared nature of Living games" Should be "Due to..." |
| kjenks02-24-06, 09:06 AM | Page 65: Point of Contact for Bandit Kingdoms is Casey Brown, not Casey Browny ...which is particularly amusing because a previous LGCS listed our POC as Britt Fey instead of Britt Frey. We're beginning to think the unseelie fey are taking over the BK. |

| Namarus02-24-06, 05:46 PM | Delete from page 23 and instead add to the table on page 10. "Blooded: Add Touv to the list of regions." "Jungle Fighter: Add Touv to the list of regions." Remove from page 23, this is already on page 10, but typoed. "Noble Soul: Add Touv to the list of regions." |
| Rawveggie02-25-06, 02:47 AM | Page 64, Creighton Broadhurst's email address is "creighton@greyworks.co.uk" not "creighton@greyworks.fsworld.co.uk". There are two references to the incorrect address on this page. The Keoland triad stated that their previous website was defunct and that they were working on getting a new one up and running. Hasn't happened yet though. |

| kjenks02-25-06, 05:52 PM | The LG Deities document 2.0 does not give Wee Jas the Death domain, but LGCS 5 does, on page 11. We should review all of the domains on page 11. In the LG Deities document 2.0, Moradin and Yondallaboth both have PH domains that are not listed in the LGCS 5, and Wee Jas seems to have Repose instead of Death. This is a bit of a mess. |
| Mortepierre02-25-06, 05:57 PM | I wouldn't be surprised if the (long-awaited) 2.1 version of the Deities document was released soon after WF... |
| Rawveggie02-26-06, 07:04 AM | This is a bit of a mess. Does the LGCS 5 even make mention of the Deities document? It may just be easier to mention it as the source for domains. It seems like the Deities document had a lot of hard work put into it and there is no reason to reinvent the wheel. -Raw |

It seems like the Deities document had a lot of hard work put into it and there is no reason to reinvent the wheel. -Raw I suspect they put a few popular deities in the LGCS with a few PH domains so that people could create characters without referring to the LG Deities document or the non-PH sourcebooks. I think the PH domain issues with Moradin, Yondallaboth and Wee Jas are just mistakes. While they're fixing those mistakes, I think it would be a good idea to make the brief note at the top of the table, "(other choices in the LG Deities Document)," a little more extensive to let players know that there are many other choices for deities and even other choices for domains for the few deities listed. |

If you come in with a Wee Jas Cleric, someone should be able to correct your Death domain to Repose. It would probably be best to note that a Wee Jas Cleric who takes the Death domain should expect changes... |

Assuming the goal is to allow a 'quick start' then I would think that a document expressly for that purpose would be in order rather than something incomplete in a 70 page document. Alot of the LGCS seems out of date and just surviving by inertia, I feel sorry for anyone that tries joining LG on thier own rather than through friends already involved, James |

| WizO_Shadow02-27-06, 09:53 PM | Hello everyone! I stuck the thread because it's nice to have it all in one handy dandy note-- location. Please keep all posts to the point (no thread derailment or O/T). Thank you! Shadow |
| Sieylianna02-28-06, 07:32 AM | BTW, Creighton said on the LG Yahoo group that the wrong version of LGCS 5.0 was released and they were working on getting the proper version posted. Ed |
| WotC_Tulach03-01-06, 06:06 PM | Let me explain what happened. I sent a version of the LGCS to everyone, including the web guy, Jeff. This was the version that was considered the draft version, and was posted to the WotC site for public review. After the review period was over, I made quite a few "tweaks" to the document, based on feedback from the community. I then sent Jeff the final version that needed to be converted to the swanky new look. Unfortunately, a fair number of the slight changes were not caught. I still have the LGCS with all the changes. I think 95% of the things that have been mentioned were changed, but weren't caught during document conversion. This will be addressed within the next week or two. |

| Some_call_me_Tim03-02-06, 11:31 AM | King Lynwerd is back in charge in Nyrond, so "Nyrond Imperium" [pp. 5, 10, 66] should be changed back to "Kingdom of Nyrond." Some of Sewarndt's agents must still work at WotC. On page 9, it refers to to "Nyrond and her Environ MR" not "Environs" as it does on page 66. |
| LCJJohnson03-02-06, 07:46 PM | If the errata is to be ignored as I have heard through the grapevine, then references to the errata in chapters 5, 6 and 9 will need to be altered somehow. I don't envy the PTB sorting that mess out. LCJJ |

| kjenks03-17-06, 01:06 PM | The new LGCS is up and it corrects almost all of the errors and omissions discussed in this thread. Good work, gang! http://www.wizards.com/rpga/downloads/LGCS_596.zip |

I just glanced through and it looks good. Thanks for listening to the populace and getting us a solid version of this document! -Raw |
| Lightblade03-23-06, 03:58 PM | Yeah, the new LCCS looks really good. One nitpick for next year's version: Tumble should be added on page 10 to the list of skills that can be used to find extra gold. It doesn't actually change anything, but it's probably a good idea to put it in there anyway. |
| LCJJohnson04-04-06, 11:39 PM | The LGCS page 62 lists the "Monsters FAQ" as an official source for the campaign even though the FAQ is for the MM 3.0. Shouldn't we get something that is updated to 3.5? LCJJ |
