Lifestyle costs for MIC TUs spent [Archive] - Wizards Community

Even though some players still seem to be feigning ignorance of this, the consensus among most LG players and GMs is that you multiply the lifestyle cost by ALL TUs spent on that AR. This, however, has generated some follow up questions:

If you have an AR favor or meta-org that gives you free upkeep, does that also include any TUs you spent in MIC (or other non-exempted TUs spent)? It doesn't seem like the "favor" would be good for an unlimited time, as MIC crafting could take up to 5 TUs (or more!). (Although the meta-org might allow for "free upkeep", as you're still in your "home".)

If it doesn't, can you change the "level" of lifestyle you've used? E.g. say a mod gives you "free luxury upkeep for the next 3 core mods", do you HAVE to pay for luxury upkeep for your MIC or can you drop back down to "standard"?

I'm getting all kinds of interpretations of this, so a single "this is how it is" would be helpful.

Thanks,
Marcia

All I know is my crafting druid always lives off the wild...so it's never been an issue for me...

If the favour says you get the upkeep for the 'adventure' then I assume it covers everything. Mostly that makes sense too.

I don't believe this is entirely correct. I know of at least one exception to this; see page 18 of the LGCS: Benefits from Nonadventuring Activity.

Edit: page 13 Charity of Friends too

I'm specifically asking about TUs spent in activities that are NOT exempted from lifestyle costs, as those are pretty well documented. I would really like to hear from someone "official" and not get yet more opinions.

Thanks,
Marcia
