02-19-07, 11:33 PM Does anyone know what the access in the new LGCS means for limited wish? There was some discussions with some people at a con this past weekend about whether "access" meant only the wizard spell list or if it was to open spells. Some people who played wizards wanted to know if they could still use it to cast cleric spells.

But with the new access rules, Limited Wish can duplicate more spells. The new ones include:

Aspect of the Icy Hunter: Take the form of a winter wolf. (CM)

Curse of Ill Fortune, Mass: Letting loose a stream of foul incantations you curse multiple subjects. As Curse of Ill Fortune. (SpC)

Form of the Threefold Beast: Turn yourself into a chimera. (CM)

Shape of the Hellspawned Stalker: Turn yourself into a hell hound. (CM)

Trollshape: Swift. Your muscles ripple, and you hear bones crackling underneath your now mottled green skin as your form reshapes to that of a horrid troll. (PH2)

Mass Curse of Ill Fortune is a level 5 cleric spell, so unless you have a prohibited school issue, you can duplicate it with Limited Wish.

It's still unclear if we can use Limited Wish to duplicate an adept casting a Heal spell (it's spell level 5 on the adept spell list), but Rejuvenation Cocoon, the druid's level 5 Heal, is fair game.

I think the answer to this now (unfortunately) is no. Since the adept is officially a closed class, I don't see how you can argue that a PC has access to the adept spell list. This is why I was hoping they left NPC class access open - then I think the answer would have been yes.
