If the upper boxed text on an AR gives me access to an Elven Thinblade (or any non-core item), do I also have access to a masterwork version of it?

Thi has been asked before and, irritatingly, the answer was "no". [posted by a Circle member on the LG yahoo group some time ago iirc]

Hmm.. I wonder if a PC who had such access AND enough skill ranks in - for instance - Craft (weaponsmithing) would then be authorized to manufacture one (in the same way getting access to some magic items allows you to create them afterwards)

No.

There is no non-magical crafting in LG.

I seem to remember a certain Triad member saying that access to any mundane weapon/armor also grants access to a masterwork version of that item. Which can then be enchanted to +1. I believe the resoning was that Core access grants you access to masterwork & +1 versions of ANY weapon/armor that you have access to.

Actually, yes, there is. According to the LGCS (p.44), you can earn gp by practicing your craft skill in-between adventures. I find silly the fact that I can earn gold by selling weapons I craft but am incapable of crafting one for myself! Ah well, no game-system is perfect I guess...

Are you referring to the top boxed text where the favors and curses are? If so, it should give an explanation.
