dulgar 02-20-07, 10:24 PM	Hey all, What is the ruling on forms with natural attacks and monk levels? For example, say a Druid 5/Monk 3 is wildshaped into a leopard. During an attack, what is the damage done? 1d6 for the natural weapons, or 1d8 for the Monk's unarmed attack? Aaron
Adolfo_Mondschein 02-20-07, 10:55 PM	Unarmed Strike damage from Monk levels do not stack with Natural Attacks. The increase from size, of course, stacks. Also, natural-weapons like claws, tentacles, etc. cannot be used with flurry of blows, just monk weapons(including unarmed strike of course). You can however use your unarmed strikes in any corporeal form... Including your leopard example... These don't take the place of the natural attacks... I know this may sound ridiculous, but this seems to be more of a balance issue than a common sense issue. Depending on the situation, your DM may make his/her own call on the matter, but wizards gives a strict no...
ShinAkuma2 02-20-07, 11:24 PM	According the FAQ, you can combine a Flurry with a natural attack sequence, but only if those natural weapons can be combined with natural weapon attacks. For instance, a Centaur can use hooves after a manufactured weapon, and so could throw them on the end of a flurry. A Troglodyte can claw and bite while using a natural weapon, and so could flurry as well. On the other hand, Leopards don't combine claws/etc with natural weapons, and thus couldn't use them while flurrying.

I think you mean manufactured weapons there, as in leopard attacks can't be combined with manufactured weapon attacks....otherwise what you just said makes no sense...
haferka 02-21-07, 08:21 AM	I believe there is an item in one of the books (perhaps A&E) which lets an animal "attack" with a set of manufactured horns straped to its head. What determines if that creature can use the manufactured weapon AND its natural attacks... As far as I can tell, ANY creature can do this, provided they find a manufactured weapon that they can wield.
