Clerics of Zuoken and Xan Yae should be able to freely multiclass as monks. Clerics of Heironeous and Mayaheine should be able to freely multiclass as paladins. |
| haferka02-03-06, 08:25 AM | This fits very well... I say allow it also. |
| Britt02-03-06, 08:46 AM | Don't forget Zodal for the monks and Cuthbert for the paladins. I'm not sure if I agree that this should be added, but if you did, I'd add those two. |
| Moryath02-03-06, 08:53 AM | These make sense. |
| waynemarkstubbs02-03-06, 08:54 AM | I'm not sure about Cuthbert. I limited the list in my original request, because otherwise you could start arguing about "why not Al Alkbar, why not Rao?" etc. H because he is "The Archpaladin" and M because she WAS a paladin. Makes sense to me. Priests of the God of Paladins should be able to be paladins, no? Same with Zuoken. Priests of the God of Monks currently suck at unarmed combat and other monky stuff. I'd be willing to let things slide on Xan Yae, as recent canon has emphasised more her 'stealth' aspect. |
| Britt02-03-06, 09:09 AM | I see your point, I just have always pictured Cuthbert as in the same group. That's just my opinion though. Zodal though, that's a monk's monk. |
| Moryath02-03-06, 09:18 AM | I see your point, I just have always pictured Cuthbert as in the same group. That's just my opinion though. Zodal though, that's a monk's monk. Cuthbert maybe not. While the sources list him as "Lawful Good" he's always been more Lawful than Good with a healthy side of "@#$@ the Undead" thrown in. I agree in principle, though, that some of these deities' clerics ought to be freely multiclassable. |
| makem02-03-06, 10:56 AM | What you seem to be asking is for a rules change, which I am under the impression will not be happening in the LGCS. There are several feats in Complete Adventure that allow multiclassing options for monks and paladins. Then there is the sacred fist prestige class in CDivine. I don't know of any feats that allow for multiclassing cleric with monk/paladin which doesn't mean there are none. |
| haferka02-03-06, 11:15 AM | What he is asking for is an exception to the "no multiclassing" rule for specific diety choices. WOTCH has repeatedly stated that the "no multiclassing" rule for these two classes is simply a roleplaying restriction. And the Forgotten Realms campaign specificly lists serveral execptions to the rules when they player chooses a specific diety. Its a flavor thing and it makes sense. |
