haferka 02-11-06, 02:10 AM	Can PCs learn Monster Languages? Specificly: Blink Dog & Worg. I have a rather unique character concept, Druid/Marshal who will eventually be Dru3/Mar2/Beastmaster10. I am focusing on Riding Dog animal companions, but I want to get more advanced dog(s) as companions in the future. As a side note, I noticed that the Arms & Equipment guide lists that Blink dog is availible as an Improved Familiar, and that it takes the rider when using its DDoor ability. Would this also work for a Druid & his Blink Dog animal companion or Cohort (if I can't get it as a companion, i will get one as a cohort). On another side note, my druid org (fellreev druids :BK) gains +1 renown with Magic beasts, so I think getting a special mission for access is probably doable.. provided that It is LG legal.
Prochytes 02-11-06, 09:17 AM	I think that you probably need AR certification (although I could well be wrong on this). For example, one of my PCs can learn Kuo-Toan, but only because she found a book that taught her it. Talking to the fish-people, how nice.... :) (Of course, the fact that Kuo-Toan was on an AR is not in itself a robust argument that you now need the AR to have it; witness the "Cloaks of Resistance +1" you sometimes see on older ARs).
