| Bob_the_Theurge02-02-06, 09:02 PM | If this is a verboten topic, forgive me, but I have to ask. Multiattack (from the Monster Manual) is an "NPC Only" feat. Presumably this is a holdover from very early versions of the LGCS, for some reason. However, "NPC Only" feats are freely Core for animal companions. This strikes me as a bit strange, since there are a couple of prestige classes available that grant characters natural attacks. And of course, various magic can shape-change players into monsters that get it as a racial bonus feat. Is there really a big difference between Multiattack being Core, since its prerequisite is three natural attacks, and NPC Only, other than creating the backwards situation whereby a Druid of some PrC can't have it but his wolf companion can? I realize that this is a question that probably doesn't affect 99.9% of the players, and is highly unlikely to see any Circle attention whatsoever for that reason, but I'd still like to know what the reasoning is. |

Keep reading. Your COHORT can have Multiattack as per LGCS, all NPC-Only feats are available as Core to Cohorts. That's right. As a 12th level character with Leadership, you can have a Dragon Disciple with Multiattack as your Cohort. YOU just can't have Multiattack. Snip! |
| Elfen_Archangel02-03-06, 10:23 AM | Be nice. Multi-attack is a monster manual feat, one that PCs will never see in LG. We smile. We nod. We move on. Throwing tantrum's isn't the way to get things changed. Try constructive criticism and see where that gets you. Matthew Schad |

Matthew Schad When you get back a dismissive email from a Circle who aren't interested in any form of sense regarding available classes which specifically mention feats? "Try constructive criticism" has been done. If they had a decent reason, I'd be fine with it. They don't. They just don't want to bother and "opening up feats from that source for players of such a tiny minority of PCs is not something we want to proceed with at this time." Snip! |
| Elfen_Archangel02-03-06, 10:48 AM | But they don't have to make anything available to a PC just because the PC demands it. Heck, I have a list of things that either my Triad or the Circle has said no to. I even have all the e-mails saved in yahoo, and my "No" folder has over 100 e-mails in it. It doesn't mean I won't stop asking. But I do think that the way I've asked has gotten me a lot more than demanding and screaming for it has. If they don't want to allow it, leave them be. Personally I wouldn't have opened up multi-attack to cohorts that are of a race a PC can play (dwarf, elf, gnome, halfling, half-elf, half-ord, human). If you have like a norker cohort, or something, then by all means I think they should be allowed access to the feat. If you have a human cohort I do not think they should be allowed access to a feat that is supposed to only be for "Monsters". Speaking of which, can we have that added to the LGCS? Multiattack can only be taken by cohorts that are "Monsters"? Matthew Schad |
| A'Talsen02-03-06, 11:27 AM | I'd love to see the MM feats open to PC who qualify. Monks could get a real benifit from Inproved Natural attack - heck that is a core feat in Eberron... | getrider02-03-06, 03:12 PM | I have to agree with the original post. As more and more people are playing may varied P-classes (bear warrior for example) as well as monsterous humanoid races (centaurs specifically) putting all the MM feats in the limbo of NPC only does not make sense. I would hope that the circle would realize that the 'minority' that could use these feats are not quite so small as they think. As to if this post or thread in general will get any response from the Circle. Well I'm not to worried. It is more important to me to state that there is a problem and provide them the opportunity to correct it than to get access to a feat I may not be able to take for a few more levels yet. Robert R. |
