Need to know what certain new weapons are made of... [Archive] - Wizards Community

Steel is the default I suppose, though either of the weapons I mentioned look like they may be made out of stone. The fact the that the images are not in color doesn't help...

02-13-07, 07:57 PM I'd treat an item like that just like a warhammer.

You can add darkwood and stuff like that, because it has a wood shaft.

You can use "metallic" enhancements like cold iron, silver or adamantine, because it has a metal striking surface.

You can't use brambles or spikes for the same reason.

While it is possible to use stone instead of steel, you can do that with an axe or hammer too, and what you get is an inferior weapon. Some book or other mentions this, I think even in core rules, or perhaps A&EG. Kind of like the reverse of masterwork.
