| Xippendollom Krakenwarren01-18-07, 12:44 PM | This is a pretty basic question that I should be able to find an answer to, but for some reason I can't. With the new base classes (ie-Scout, Warmage, Favored Soul, etc.) that are allowed in LG and are listed as 'Core', can I take one at first level, or do I need to wait until 3rd level like I do with Feats and Spells? The same question goes for Domains. If I pick a God that has a domain in the Complete Divine, am I allowed to take it or could I only take it if I were level 3 when I picked up my first cleric level? The answer to both of those SHOULD be that I can take them at first level, but I'd like to be sure before I build an illegal character. |
| bhale18701-18-07, 12:52 PM | yes you can take the classes and the listed domains at first level. click here (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=lg) download the LG campaign standards for the classes (p11) and the LG dieties v2 for the domains (p3) |

| kenobi6501-18-07, 02:23 PM | I was looking in the campaign standards, but for some reason couldn't find it in there. p. 11, right-hand column: Also, in addition to feat options, you may create a 1st-level character of any of the following new base classes. |
| Alpha_Nerd01-18-07, 02:34 PM | My god that's a long name. |
| amnuxoll01-18-07, 03:01 PM | Kinda short for a gnome, actually. Must be his nickname. :) |
| Xippendollom Krakenwarren01-18-07, 03:07 PM | And there, on page 11, it is. Blinking at me, wondering how I missed it. Thanks, guys. I think I need more sleep. Kinda short for a gnome, actually. Must be his nickname. :) How right you are. Seebo Daiglemort Whisper Xippendollom Krakenwarren the Halfling Slayer (Gnome Illusionist) His name was, much to his chagrin, shortened to 'Xi' by his friends. His spell "Seebo Daiglemort's Mortifying Blast of Healthy Hot Halfling Slaying Super Static", has yet to be shortened (beyond SDMBoHHHSSS). |
| JohnduBois01-18-07, 06:10 PM | Seebo Daiglemort Whisper Xippendollom Krakenwarren the Halfling Slayer Now THAT'S a gnomish name! (still frustrated at the number of people who have gnome names that don't have to be abbreviated on an AR) |
| _m_01-18-07, 07:45 PM | Now THAT'S a gnomish name! (still frustrated at the number of people who have gnome names that don't have to be abbreviated on an AR) Alvin van Halen is my gnome. |
| clannagh01-18-07, 08:27 PM | Alvin van Halen is my gnome. bluddy ritters |
| Xippendollom Krakenwarren01-19-07, 10:35 AM | Now THAT'S a gnomish name! (still frustrated at the number of people who have gnome names that don't have to be abbreviated on an AR) Yeah, I love gnomes. I actually don't play one very often because it takes a lot of energy for me to play a gnome, and I just don't have that sort of energy all the time. I too cringe when I see a gnome named 'Tim the Tinker' or something like that. |
| kjenks01-23-07, 10:01 AM | My annoying gnome, Delphinius, speaks out loud in rhyme. It takes a lot of energy to do that all the time. Delphinius P. Spindlebottom is my gnome's full name. I find that rhyming, though hard work, brings joy to the game. Something funny happens, though, when you speak in verse. It is quite strange, it is quite fun, it may be quite a curse. At first the people at the table find the rhymes outrageous. But in a while, and with a smile, they find it quite contagious. They start in small, a brief haiku, a couplet here and there, but then they top each other, although DMs may glare, and soon they get into the mood, and find their poet's voice. Then everybody's doing it, as if they have no choice. Until the dour half-orc, barbarian at heart, will find a way to make a rhyme of blood and gore and fart. And then the rhyming dies away, a memory of the time when Delphinius P. Spindlebottom led the game in rhyme. |
