To paraphrase from the draconic, this is the general sentiment "OMG, this is a total NERF. How am I supposed to get HALF DRAGON BULLETTES and STIRGES and stuff now!. Not to mention all those hot sorceresses that want draconic kids! Make Polymorph NPC-Only at least, so we can keep breeding!" From the Silver, Gold and Bronze dragons "That's what you get for being chromatic. You could have been a nice dragon and had the ability to shapeshif anyway. Maybe all the half dragons now will be NICE half dragons. Nyeah Nyeah. Maybe you should stick to your own kind except - you're all too nasty to get anyone to sleep with you anyway." Great Green of the Gamboge: "Yes, you all should come to my forest. I always welcome more mates. I can arrange one of my minions to atone you to Green first." From the Brass and Bronze dragons "Hey, we're not chromatic and we're being nerfed too! This is so unfair." Morgenstaler: "I've been researching a 'humanform' spell, so as to not interfere with my current plan to seduce various PC spontaneous casters. I might be willing to share my research for a small...well maybe not so small fee. You all are so prejudiced. We can still make half-dragon trolls, hell hounds and such. That should tide us over till more spell research happens. After all, what are kobolds for if not to enslave and do spell research?" (this could probably be funnier, but I have to go do some real work now. There are some pretty strange implications of the polymorph ban though, especially for a certain metaregional involving an amorous dragon)

I've been wondering about how the BK Triad will handle Morginstaler since the news first broke ;) Azrien will be unhappy: she likes Morgie, despite the unintended consequences of their, ahem, "moonlit flight over the Rift Canyon". And one other issue - the "shape" spells are only rounds/level. Even at high caster level, that might be a bit of a problem for Morgie...

And one other issue - the "shape" spells are only rounds/level. Even at high caster level, that might be a bit of a problem for Morgie... Well, he is CE, which makes him selfish... I'm sure there's a spell somewhere that would make it work. Besides, there's nothing against NPCs creating spells. Just say "it's magic".

Does the crafter have to pay this cost immediately, or only in incremental payments as they grow up? I would assume the XP loss is "immediate." :blush:
