If I need Regenerate cast (level 7 spell, 13th level caster), I must be in a town of 12,000+ people or have another method of getting it cast (13th level caster mentioned in a Mod or spell favor on an AR or Meta Org).

If I play a Mod that happens or starts in Greyhawk City (population over 50,000), do I simply tell the Judge that I am paying for a Regenerate, and have him Mark it on my AR play notes?

I think that's the way it works. If you can find a 13th level cleric who is willing to play with your party (I don't know what level your one-legged or one-armed character is), it's a lot cheaper though.

It sure would be. But the character is low level, So an Interactive would be about the only way I see that happening.

The Mod includes a way to fix it, but it is 910gp +4 TUs (To find a caster, presumably)... I would much rather Pay the 910gp and do a core mod in Greyhawk City, so I get XP in addition making back some of the gold while getting this done.

A rather large number of core mods don't take place in the City of Greyhawk at all.... and even those that do will sometimes begin enroute to the city so that it's quite possible for you to have to go through a good chunk of the mod before you have a chance to track down someone willing and able to cast it for you.

By waiting you risk missing out on other potential adventuring opportunities (chances to play scenarios that don't take place in Greyhawk City) or playing a handicapped character

IMO, if you've got the money for the spell, it's really not worth it to wait for a scenario that happens in the City of Greyhawk just to save 4 TUs.

But it's your character...

you only have a spellcaster of a certain level in a lg-module when he/she is spelled out in the module text WITH level. or sitting at the table as a character.

even in a greyhawk-city module you are out of luck, when there is no high level caster written in the module.

this is due to the fact, that lg does not use the spellcaster services part of the items/equipment table in the phb look at page 11 of the current lgcs.

Not true. Check out page 43-44 of the LGCS under NPC Performed Spellcasting. Table 6-3 lists the 25 spells that NPCs will cast for characters if they are in an appropriately sized settlement to support that level caster. Regeneration is on that list. "The spells on Table 6-3 may be cast by NPCs under a DM's control. Regional rules and individual adventure text may override these costs."

Check Page 43 and 44 of the same document. It clearly states that you may purchase the spells listed in table 6-3 (of the LGCS for year 596) with access to a settlement of appropriate size. It also clarifies that if casters are written in at higher level then a settlement would support, or will do things for a lesser cost, the mod will take precedent over the rules in the LGCS596.

As for the possibility of having to play a handicapped character... part of me is looking forward to the opportunity. The character is one that will not suffer as greatly as a warrior might, and this limitation will not be permanent.

Edit : hehe, Patty beat me to it.

Be careful what you wish for ;) ... I've seen mods that result in PCs losing a hand, eye, or arm and a "simple" regeneration is not sufficient to repair the damage.... Ever notice that Miracle and Wish are not on that list of spells that NPCs will cast?

Well, it happened in a slot 0, and I have not seen the AR yet. Once I see it, I'll be able to make a more informed choice.
