So, at best, expect an awful lot of table variation, and expect a lot of DMs to say "no way." |

Fist of Stone just says '1 minute' and depending on your reading of the card, the 'per level' part might be critical. True Strike I'm disinclined to allow (table variation yadda yadda) mostly because I think it's obvious that the item's intent isn't to allow you to get the full benefit of a spell, and with True Strike you'd basically be getting a full second casting. If a Judge allows True Strike to work with the spellstone, a player could get in two True Strikes in a single round easily. That breaks the intent of both True Strike and the Orbital Spellstone card in my opinion. It's not like we didn't know that a spellstoring item wouldn't have long rules arguments over it, though. For myself, if someone is casting simple buffs like Shield or Aid...even Divine Power into them, I'd be OK with that. I'd probably even allow Fist of Stone despite the lack of clarity in the wording. ----------- Agreeing with Jay_Ibero though...I like the Spellstone some, but I'm much happier about Sudden Slip and One More Time. (I only got 3 LG cards along with my 3 Xendrik cards but they were the best of the LG cards in this release!) Side note: Since it isn't one use per round of play, the Spellstone is much better for long adapteds while cards like One More Time might be less useful in modules that have fighting lasting over more than one day. |
