| Shaulah08-01-06, 05:55 PM | Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this, but I hope so. I'm from Guadalajara in Mexico, and I like to run a Living Greyhawk event. Wich should be the best opcion to pick a region? Because my players and I should be of the same region obviously, but I don't see any region corresponding to South America. Im sorry if I say something wrong; English is not my native language. Thank you very much in advance. |

As far as I know, it's the only Core region available as a home region, and it's a pretty decent place to have as a home region, too, since there are more than 9 adventures already part of the Blood on Bright Sands story arc. Normal Core adventures will cost the standard 2 TUs per round, but the Blood on Bright Sands adventures will only cost 1 TU per round for your characters. Hope that helps. |

Be forewarned that there are only 2 ways to have the Bright Sands as your character's home region: 1) Play "Blood on Bright Sands" as the very first module that your character plays. 2) Play one of the Bright Sands pre-generated "fastplay" characters. You're correct in that neither Mexico, nor any country in Central or South America, is assigned to a region. While you can choose any region that is assigned to a real-world counry or region (as well as Bright Sands, as noted above) as your character's home region, because you don't live in an assigned region, you are only able to run Core adventures. So, even if you all pick Nyrond, for example, as your PC's home regions, you still won't be able to order and run Nyrond regional adventures in Mexico. To play in a particular region's adventures, you have to actually be in that region...thus, to play in a Bandit Kingdoms regional adventure, you have to be in the real-world area that's assigned to Bandit Kingdoms (Oklahoma and Texas). Hope this helps clarify things a bit. |

If you want them to all be friends that come from the same region and adventure together, that is okay. It is also okay to make them all from different regions. A dwarf might be from the Principality of Ulek which is ruled by a dwarf. An elf might be from the elven nation of Highfolk. The rogue might be from the Bandit Kingdoms where thieves are quite common. If you think that you might have a chance to visit conventions in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, or Southern California, you might want to make your characters from Nyrond or the Bandit Kingdoms so that they will have a chance to visit "home." Good luck at getting things started! Patty |
