In this thread http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=613543 it was pointed out that the correction to the boilerplate text about playing up/down was deleted from the latest LGCS.

Steven Conforti said "The boilerplate text should be correct." But that's not the same as saying "The boilerplate text is now correct - people playing down more than 3 levels only get 1/2 gold, as it says in the boilerplate text."

I'm very confused as to which is true, and it's a significant issue! I've not seen any Year 6 modules yet so I don't know what the boilerplate says in those.

Would it be possible for a circle member to state definitively whether the old system [play up 4+ levels, get 1/2 xp and 1/2 gold; play down 4+ levels get 1/2 xp and full gold] is still in operation or whether the system is now: play up or down 4+ levels, get 1/2 xp and 1/2 gold.

I don't mind either way, but as a DM and organiser of a large LG group, I want to make sure we're all getting this right.

The Dispel Confusion articles usually come out on Tuesdays. Check tomorrow to see if this gets answered.

Boilerplate is correct. Section of LGCS which refuted this fact was removed.

Please clarify the answer on page 63 in LGCS596CY.pdf to the question:
What happens if my character gains enough levels since the time of playtest to put the character at a level where they'd earn half XP, or where they'd normally be removed from the campaign?

Answer in part:
[...]
Normally, a 13th-level character would earn half XP from play of that adventire, but since
[...]

In the precedding version of the LGCS here was also half gold mentioned.

You are saying that this section got changed to something different than the writer guidelines?

The playtest question isn't relevant to this discussion.

That's talking about something you played at APL, but didn't get the AR until later. All it says is that you always get gold/xp based on the level you played the mod, not the level the char is when you receive the AR.

(if you slotzero or do playtests, this happens a lot. I had one char spend nearly double the time at level 5 and zip through level 6 in a couple mods because of the timing of when I received AR's....convention day is sometimes like winning the lottery for chars with a lot of AR's backlogged from the zeros)
