I cannot find the rule recorded anywhwere, but I am sure I was once told a player is limited to one time playing any module (i.e. you cannot play the same module with 2 or 3 different characters)

Could someone tell me where I can find this to show to a fellow player?

That would be pretty ridiculous if you could play a mod multiple times.

Ooh ooh, I know the answer to that riddle. I know which npc's to interrogate. I know what spells to prepare. etc.

"Dang it! What do you mean the Duke throws us all in jail for 18 TUs? Just for telling him where to shove it? He did that to our party last week for an inocent comment about his pig bride! And the week before that too, when I didn't even kick him that hard! How many jails does this guy have, aren't they full yet?"

I know someone who played a mod twice. It wasn't until he got the AR that he realized he played it before. :)

I of course have signed up and showed up to 2 mods and left after the blurb.

A few years ago, I was at a table where one of my friends realized half way through the module that he'd already played it. I guess the module was non-linear enough, and our decisions different enough, that it was different enough to that point so he didn't recognize it. With the DM's permission, he continued at the table (sharing the risk), but didn't provide any more input to decision-making or non-combat NPC interaction.

Funniest thing was, he had originally played it with our DM as a party member. :)

Things like this happen during large game days and conventions. It's a fact of life. I think I have, twice, sat in on a mod that I've already played as a 'warm body'. Usually, the table isn't full or the APL isn't quite right, and so they need another person. All I do is allow my character to sit there and be a cohort. I don't talk about the plot or interact with anyone. And when fight time comes, I let everyone know what I can do and they tell me what dice to roll. I'm sure there are lots of rules and guidelines that say I can't do it, but in the end of the day I don't get an AR, they have a good time, and we're all happy. That's what this game's about. Having fun. :P

I've made a list of each Mod I've played with any character, and keep it in the front of my AR binder or PHB, so if there is any question, I can just look it up. Works for me now, I only have 3 characters.
