Silvertears 05-31-06, 11:48 AM	Greetings! Just a quick question about taking a PrC. I guess this applies to regular gaming, but as this character is an LG char, I figured i'd ask it here. I am currently level 5, and have all the skill requirements of a PrC that I want to take. I wasn't originally planning on taking this, but an in-game event kind of swayed me. The only thing I am missing is a feat. Can I take this PrC at level 6 as long as I take the requisite feat then as well, or do I have to wait till level 7 to take the prestige class? Like I said, I meet all the other requirements anyway. Thanks all! Silver.
kenobi65 05-31-06, 11:55 AM	You need to wait until 7th level. In the PHB (I don't have mine at hand, so I can't give you a page #), there's a section on leveling up characters, and there's a particular order in which you do the leveling process (i.e., select class, roll HP, spend skill points, etc.) IIRC, selecting which class you are going to take at the new level is one of the very first things you do (maybe the first), and spending a feat slot is a lot further down the list. So, when you reach 6th level, and are "choosing" which class to take the new level in, you won't yet have that feat that you'd need to take the PrC at 6th level. In short, to enter a PrC, you need to have all the requirements satisfied before you level into it.
