There are still PrCs like Blackflame Zealot which are listed as NPC, but in the v2.0 deities document they are allowed to players. There are a couple of other PrC that are mentioned in that document that should be updated in the LGCS. |

AFAIK, Stormlord is the only prestige class which is affected by the deities document (becoming core). Even though Black Flame Zealot would be legal for a PC follower of Joramy, it is still a NPC Only class. Ed |

Back in 3.0, both the True Necromancer and Palemaster were valid PrCs for PCs via the rules (True Necros via Wee Jas), but were NPC only because they were "eeeeeeeeeeeeevil", sort of like the Blackflame Zealot. Personally, I find the reasoning to be an excersize in being pointless. I understand that, in the case of a True Necro or a Palemaster, most good/neutral kingdoms don't appreciate that sort of necromancy, but when I can make the exact same character concept using the exact same necromancy with a single class cleric of Wee Jas, then there's no point in making it NPC only. The Blackflame Zealot is basically a cleric/rogue who kills people for her/his church. Given that there's only 1/2 spell progression for the BZ, that basically means that you can make that character concept with a simple rogue/cleric. Once again, I'm not seeing the point in making it NPC only. |
| Paul H02-17-06, 06:50 PM | Hi Where does it say that Blackflame Zealot is ONLY NPC? Quite clearly listed amongst PC prestige classes. Only problem is the No Evil God' rule, so Joramy only choice. Still prefer Stormlord - my Brightlands character Human Cleric Velnius.' Cheers Paul H |
