Injury: No, unless you stab yourself with a fork or something when eating. It doesn't work on the outside of the body, only when it enters the bloodstream, and it is likely broken down by the digestive action of saliva and/or stomach. That is pretty concentrated HCl in there, after all.

That's the way I think it works, anyways.
