Both the DMG and D&D 3.5 SRD (http://www.wizards.com/d20/files/v35/MonstersE-F.rtf) state that Wood Elves get +2 STR, +2 DEX, -2 CON, -2 INT. The Monsters Manual states they get +2 STR, +2 DEX, -2 CON, -2 INT, -2 CHA. Which one of these is correct in Living Greyhawk?

My copy of MM3.5 has +str/dex, -con/int.

First Printing: July 2003

Which printing/edition are you looking at?

Hrm.... the Errata says nada but does say this:
When you find a disagreement between two D&D rules
sources, unless an official errata file says otherwise, the
primary source is correct.
...
The Player’s
Handbook, for example, gives all the rules for playing
the game, for PC races, and the base class descriptions.
If you find something on one of those topics from the
Dungeon Master’s Guide or the Monster Manual that
disagrees with the Player’s Handbook, you should
assume the Player’s Handbook is the primary source.
...
The Monster Manual is
the primary source for monster descriptions, templates,
and supernatural, extraordinary, and spell-like abilities.

Now, normally the PHB would trump but this is the DMG and MM so the latter (MM) would be the primary source. And the LGCS do reference the MM and NOT the DMG so that would further suggest the MM stats.

Wood elves take a -2 to cha.

Unless you can get a copy of the fully updated and errated black leather MM and see if it says otherwise.

Wood Elves do NOT take a -2 to Charisma.

Does anyone know if the Black leather edition has the correct stats? If so that may make it worth it for me to purchase.

My MM (July 2003, came in the boxed 3.5 set), on pg. 104, lists Wood Elves as having +2 STR, -2 INT in addition to the high elf traits.

Are you using a 3.0 MM?

nope, 3.5 mm, first printing has the error.

nope, 3.5 mm, first printing has the error.

LGCS says you must always use the newest version of a source .

If you are worried just get a photocopy of the relevant page from a newer version of the MM.

nope, 3.5 mm, first printing has the error.Huh... Mine's a first printing -- says "+2 Strength, -2 Intelligence" ...

Regardless, clannagh is correct, the latest printing is what is used in case of dispute or difference...

went to barnes and nobles, looked through 4 Monsters Manuals. Out of them, 1 had the correct stats, which i promptly bought. I wonder if it is a regional printing mistake....

You're sure they haven't quietly changed it back in the *newest* print run?

I checked the print date on all 4 of those books, all were july 2003. Its just wierd here in NC.

(still have to check to see if this corrected mm gives dire elephants a climb speed of 10. I love the fact that you can be ambushed by gargantuan elephands standing on top of trees)
