V1zharan 04-05-07, 08:54 PM	I haven't been able to find out how race bonuses to ability scores affect the nonstandard point buy system. Are the bonuses applied before or after you spend your points? I plan on attending my first adventure soon and need to not only create my character but pass on information concerning character creation to a friend, so that makes a big difference in our scores Also, I see the Living Greyhawk Gazetteer is from 2000, and when I talked to a couple local gaming stores that carry Dungeons and Dragons books, they said they don't carry the book and have not gotten any in in awhile. Is the Gazetteer updated for 3.5 and is it required for play? Thank you in advance. ~V1zharan~
Japangirl 04-05-07, 09:06 PM	You add racial bonuses and penalties after you spend your points. So an elf (+2 Dex, -2 Con) who bought stats of a 14 Dex and 14 Con would wind up with a 16 Dex and a 12 Con in the final stats of the character. The Gazetteer is not necessary for play in LG.

Is the Gazetteer updated for 3.5 and is it required for play? As mentioned, the LGG isn't necessary. It does provide an overview of what the gameworld was like at the beginning of the campaign. It is usually available on eBay, and there are still wholesalers who have copies available. A new player in our area recently was able to get a store to special order him a copy. David
