| JustSix10-27-06, 11:49 AM | Hey all, I'm new to the RPGA and Living Greyhawk (though not to D&D in general) and I've got a question about the Regional Feats given in Dragon #315 & 319. Hopefully this hasn't been asked elsewhere... Anyway, I've got a Snow Barbarian whose home region is Keoland (I'm in PA). Looking at the list of Regional Feats, does "Snow Barbarian" count as a region or a race? I'm confused because "Snow Barbarian" isn't listed as a region in the LGCS, but it also doesn't seem like a race. Do I need to purchase two ranks in Knowledge (local) to select Snow Barbarian specific feats? Confused... Thanks for any help... |

Snow Barbarians aka Kingdom of Schnai is not a player region (neither is any other Suel Barbarian area) and thus character, while he can technically be a snow barbarian, could not take feats listed in Dragon #319 (page 59) since Schnai is not listed as available option in LGCS. However, some of those feats can be taken by PCs created for other region than Keoland (such as Driftwalker in Perrenland) but assuming your character is a Human Suel from Keoland, following feats are available according to LGCS. Giant Killer Rustic Charm Well Read Pureblooded Suel That is of course assuming you don't take ranks in Knowledge (x) to gain access to other player regions such as Ulek or Ahlissa. Cheers. They can't be taken by anyone? Not even someone who has two ranks in the appropriate Knowledge skill? ...assuming your character is a Human Suel from Keoland, following feats are available according to LGCS. Knowledge Skills only apply to player regions but as mentioned above, some of the 'Snow Barbarian' feats (and I am now talking about the chart in page 59 in dragon # 319 to avoid any confusion) can be accessed through other regions where they are available choices, such as Driftwalker in Perrenland. Some of Snow Barbarian feats are outright restricted like the hideously broken Troll Blooded and all this is indicated in LGCS. OK, now I see where I went wrong. Thanks so much for the replies, I think I've got it all straight now... |
