I am very uncomfortable with the idea of 'such and such seems broken, but atleast it's limited' as a mindset. I've already seen it in discussion here, and it just seems very very wrong. I think in practice it will be worse as limited as it will be harder to see how broken it is and not directly effecting enough people to merit a prompt change even after it's been found out. I'd be much happier with the circle restricting things on the limited list that they are unsure of and letting them debate it until such a time as they want to make such an item core instead. Partially that's because I don't think there should be *any* limited things. But if there are they should not be things 'we're not sure of' but rather they should be things that for whatever reason 'we expressly wish to be rare and only available to random sets of players'. -James |
| Mortepierre02-07-06, 04:04 AM | If you put all feats/items/spells/etc.. currently limited on the restricted list, you can invalidate a good 70% of the AR out there and go through another round of reviewing meta-org all over the place. Frankly, I wouldn't do it. It would be akin to using a sledge hammer to kill an ant. |

Frankly, I wouldn't do it. It would be akin to using a sledge hammer to kill an ant. I believe the point was that he'd rather have all of the currently limited items be core. Any items from new sources would start at restricted and then be moved to core or NPC or remain restricted. Since that's not likely, new material should all start as restricted and be moved to core, limited or NPC if it is deemed suitable. |
