| Maesto04-08-07, 04:12 AM | So, I can have a cleric with the pact domain. I put ranks into sense motive, because it's a class skill for me. Then I retrain the pact domain to something else. What happens to the ranks in sense motive? Cheers, Jolyon |

That is of course, as long as you haven't used the ranks to gain access to something else which you can no longer qualify. |
| Maesto04-09-07, 12:10 AM | Right, let's make it fun. I take a cleric level at 1st, with the pact domain. 4 ranks in sense motive. I take a fighter level at 2nd, retraining 1 rank into sense motive. I take a paladin level at 3rd, putting another rank into sense motive. I take a barbarian level at 4th, and retrain the pact domain to something else. I used to have 6 ranks in sense motive. Do you now think that I should only have 3 1/2? Just trying to get my head around this retraining thing ;-) It seems like it's introduced some problems... |
| The_Jester04-09-07, 12:31 AM | I'd become a cross-class skill so in that sense you'd be limited in the maximum ranks available. The build would no longer be legal. If you had fewer than max ranks (in this case 3.5) then it'd still be legal. |
| Timlagor04-10-07, 11:47 AM | the build above has a Paladin Level which makes SM a class skill. |
