However, how can it be represented in game in any reasonable manner. It sounds to me like "Well, I shifted my focus from making items to something esle, and now a bunch of my gold went missing..." I wouldn't mind the rule as much if it wasn't so completely abstract and had some in game basis... |

Well, the way I'd look at it is that you crafted these items and they retain some sort of link to you. When you actively retrain yourself out of a crafting feat, it breaks the link in exactly the wrong way unless you have some other crafters transfer the link to themselves - as if they were the person who crafted the item in the first place. Which they are quite happy to do for half the cost of the item :) |
