| RedKnightofKet02-16-07, 10:16 AM | I believe that loop is already closed. You are only allowed changes that would be legal for your character. Since those options aren't mentioned as being used in the LGCS, they are NONC at best. |

If you did not have access at the time you needed to make the choice you could not retrain it as it would not have been a legal build at that time. |

If you did not have access at the time you needed to make the choice you could not retrain it as it would not have been a legal build at that time. I don't think this is quite right. There are two issues here. One is that of a DnD legal build. The other is an LG allowable build. The DnD rule is that the character has to make a legal build. You can't substitute out your first level feat for Weapon Specialization, because you could not legally take Weapon Specialization at first level, for example. From an LG perspective, the substitution also has to be Open, and thus allowable. It does not have to have been Open at the time you made the original selection, it has to be open at the time you retrain. It will be possible to have a PC that retroactively eliminates the effect of the third level rule, for instance. David |

| solbergb02-16-07, 03:06 PM | I've seen access to rogue and fighter alternate class features. I of course got this access on a character that is never going to have rogue or fighter levels :) |
| Fleetfang02-16-07, 05:37 PM | Here's a related question: I've got a Sandstorm Druid. He has, according to Sandstorm (and the BoBS sourcebook), he gains the sandskimmer feat as a class freature in place of woodland stride. As one of the many people who was disappointed to never once see an opportunity in the Bright Lands arc to actually use this class feature, I'm kind of eager to drop it in favor of the more traditional woodland stride, which seems to have a jillion opportunities to use just about anywhere. :) So can my wasteland Druid retrain his sandskimmer feature into the PHB Open woodland stride feature? |
